Denon AVR-E300 5.1 Channel 3D Pass Through and Networking Home Theater AV Receiver with AirPlay

Got this receiver and so far I'm very impressed. I bought my speakers first (Energy RC-Micro 5.1 Surround Speaker System (Black)) and didn't want to pair them with an inadequate source, so I steered towards Denon. I have an older stereo receiver (Denon DRA-75VR) and knew that Denon produced a nice, accurate signal when paired with the right speakers. I almost went with the AVR-E200, but I wanted the auto-calibration that came with the E300. It was a good call. I got the system wired in time for a pizza party, but didn't have the time to run the auto calibration. The system worked fine, but it didn't really impress. The next day, I ran the calibration, which amounted to hooking up a microphone and letting the receiver play a lot of ping noises. After that, the system was transformed. Incredible! It is balanced, seemingly accurate (no distinct EQ, but rather seemingly true reproduction of the recorded sound),and a delightful addition to the movies. Highly recommended. - Customer Reviews
